What you'll do

In this pivotal role, you will define the long-term vision and strategy for Motional's robotics efforts within the autonomous vehicle program. You will identify key technological challenges and opportunities, setting the roadmap for both hardware and software development. Leading a talented team of robotics engineers and software engineers, you will mentor and grow your team while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

You will oversee the architectural design and implementation of on-vehicle systems, ensuring that embedded software, runtime middleware, and operating systems are developed to meet the highest standards of safety and performance. Your role will involve close collaboration with other engineering teams to ensure that all systems are integrated seamlessly and function reliably in real-world conditions.

You will be responsible for managing high-performance compute resources and implementing robust failure detection and handling mechanisms across the integrated hardware and software systems. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the success of Motional's self-driving system, enabling it to accurately perceive its environment and execute safe actions.
