Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of experience in SOC engineering, security engineering, or platform engineering β you've designed and operated large-scale logging pipelines in cloud environments and understand the intricacies of SOC operations and detection workflows. Your strong background in cloud engineering equips you with the skills to manage and evolve cloud-based logging and automation platforms effectively.
You possess deep hands-on experience with AWS, which is crucial for building scalable logging pipelines. Your familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems allows you to ensure high-quality, reliable telemetry, and you are adept at integrating deceptive security technologies to enhance detection capabilities.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with detection engineering, incident response, and cloud teams to improve platform reliability and SOC effectiveness. Your proactive approach to security and automation reflects your commitment to continuous improvement in the face of evolving threats.
Desirable
Experience with threat framework mapping and adoption, such as MITRE ATT&CK, is a plus. Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) integration will further enhance your ability to lead SOC engineering initiatives.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead key initiatives that strengthen visibility, automation, and detection capabilities across the organization. You will own data ingestion workflows for the SIEM system, ensuring that the telemetry is both high-quality and reliable. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various teams to enhance the overall effectiveness of the SOC.
You will support and integrate deceptive security technologies and participate in purple team exercises, which are essential for improving visibility and detection coverage. Your leadership will guide the SOC engineering initiatives, focusing on automation and the integration of SIEM with ITSM processes.
You will also be responsible for designing scalable AWS logging pipelines and managing the ingestion of data into Google SecOps. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that the SOC operates efficiently and effectively, adapting to new challenges as they arise.
