Backend Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a strong background in backend engineering with at least 3 years of experience in designing and developing microservices using Java 17 or higher and Spring Boot. You are skilled in creating and documenting high-quality RESTful APIs, and you understand the importance of following best practices in software development. Your experience includes modeling and optimizing relational databases, particularly with PostgreSQL, ensuring that your solutions are both efficient and scalable.

You thrive in collaborative environments and have excellent coordination skills, allowing you to work effectively within a team. You are familiar with Agile methodologies and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, contributing to the planning and execution of sprints. Your analytical skills enable you to design solutions that meet complex technical challenges, and you are committed to maintaining high standards of code quality through reviews and testing.

You have hands-on experience with AWS services, including ECS, Fargate, Lambda, and RDS, and you are comfortable managing deployments and configurations in cloud environments. You are proactive in identifying and resolving technical issues, and you enjoy collaborating with others to define architectures that support business goals.

Desirable

Experience with GraphQL APIs is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration practices. You are eager to learn and grow, taking advantage of opportunities for professional development offered by the company.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable microservices that meet the needs of our clients. You will create and document high-quality APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger, ensuring that they are easy to use and integrate with other systems. Your work will involve modeling and optimizing relational databases, primarily using PostgreSQL, to support the applications you develop.

You will implement integrations with both internal and third-party systems, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality. As part of the Agile team, you will participate in all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to the continuous improvement of the team's processes.

Quality is paramount in your work, and you will ensure that code quality is maintained through thorough reviews and the implementation of unit and integration tests. You will manage deployments and configurations in AWS environments, leveraging services such as ECS, Fargate, and Lambda to deliver reliable solutions.

Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with other engineers to define architectures and solve complex technical problems. You will also contribute to the maintenance and improvement of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that our development processes are efficient and effective.
