Who you are

You have a strong background in database engineering, with experience in deploying and maintaining databases in cloud environments. Your expertise includes AWS console administration and performing health checks on RDS instances, ensuring high availability and performance for customer-hosted databases.

You are skilled in troubleshooting database issues and have hands-on experience with Oracle and SQL Server, including data export/import and backup/restore processes. Your familiarity with Terraform allows you to manage infrastructure as code, ensuring consistency and efficiency in database deployments.

You possess a keen analytical mindset, capable of reading and analyzing log files to identify issues and optimize database performance. Your experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch enables you to configure alerts and fine-tune thresholds for proactive database management.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues and enhance database functionality. Your professional demeanor and problem-solving skills make you an asset to any team.

Desirable

Experience with additional cloud platforms or database technologies is a plus. Familiarity with performance tuning and capacity planning will further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining NICE's global customer-hosted databases, ensuring they operate smoothly in both on-premises data centers and AWS Cloud. You will perform regular health checks and availability checks on RDS instances, utilizing tools like CloudWatch to monitor performance.

You will handle database administration tasks, including installing and configuring databases, setting up backups, and performing maintenance jobs to support capacity and performance requirements. Your role will also involve troubleshooting issues and performing data restores, patch installations, and upgrades as necessary.

Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with the Database Team and report to the Manager of Infrastructure Cloud Operations. You will engage with customers to resolve issues that require direct access to the database infrastructure, ensuring a high level of service and support.
