You have extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly in the automotive or robotics sectors, and have led teams in developing complex hardware solutions. Your background includes a strong understanding of electronics packaging and sensor integration, which is crucial for autonomous vehicle systems. You excel in managing the full product lifecycle, from initial research and design through to delivery and integration. Your organizational and communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams, ensuring that all aspects of the product are aligned and executed flawlessly. You are passionate about fostering a culture of accountability and technical rigor within your team, and you prioritize the development of your engineers to help them reach their full potential.
Desirable
Experience with autonomous vehicle systems or related technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with regulatory requirements in the automotive industry. A background in R&D efforts related to mechanical design will also be beneficial.
What you'll do
In this role, you will define and lead the mechanical design efforts for Nuro's autonomous hardware solutions. This includes overseeing prototype development and product development, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and performance criteria. You will manage a large engineering team, guiding them through the complexities of vehicle integrations and sensor weather mitigation. Your leadership will drive the team to innovate and improve existing designs while also exploring new technologies that can enhance Nuro's offerings. You will be responsible for establishing key partnerships with other engineering disciplines, facilitating collaboration that leads to successful product outcomes. Additionally, you will play a critical role in long-term R&D efforts, helping to shape the future of autonomous driving technology at Nuro.
