What you'll do

As a Staff Detection and Response Engineer at Okta, you will lead the development and maintenance of detection capabilities that support the company's intel-driven approach to defensive cyber operations. You will analyze security incidents, develop response strategies, and collaborate with various teams to enhance the overall security posture of the organization. Your role will involve building and refining detection tools and processes, ensuring they align with industry standards and best practices. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations by identifying gaps and recommending solutions.

You will work closely with the Defensive Cyber Operations team to monitor and respond to threats targeting the Okta platform and corporate environment. This includes conducting threat hunting activities, analyzing security logs, and leveraging threat intelligence to inform your strategies. You will also play a key role in training and mentoring junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of security awareness across the organization.
