Overview
Okta is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join their Azure Integrations team. You'll work on building large-scale, mission-critical software with a focus on secure and high-performance code. This position requires strong expertise in Java and Spring, along with experience in Azure integrations.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in backend development, and have a strong understanding of building large-scale applications. Your expertise in Java and Spring is complemented by a solid grasp of Azure integrations, allowing you to contribute effectively to our Azure Integrations team.
You are familiar with agile development methodologies and have experience with tools like Jira for project management. Your ability to write secure and high-performance code is matched by your commitment to automated testing and iterative development processes.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Your passion for continuous learning and improvement drives you to stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in software development.
Desirable
Experience with Microsoft Azure AD Identity Platform (Entra ID, MSGraph) is a plus, as is familiarity with automated testing frameworks. You are open to mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge with the team to foster a culture of learning and growth.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and enhancing our Azure Integrations codebase. You will participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from technical design and code reviews to testing and deployment. Your contributions will directly impact the usability and security of our identity solutions.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure that our software meets the needs of our users while adhering to best practices in security and performance. Your role will involve writing clean, maintainable code and conducting thorough code reviews to uphold our high standards.
You will also engage in troubleshooting and debugging complex issues, ensuring that our systems remain reliable and efficient. As part of a hybrid team, you will have the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely, fostering a balanced work environment.
