You have at least 10 years of experience in Data Science roles within dynamic, outcome-driven organizations — you've successfully managed cross-functional data science projects that drive revenue and marketing insights. Your expertise in statistics and causal inference allows you to apply both experimentation and observational studies effectively.

You are proficient in quantitative programming languages, particularly Python and R — you can manipulate data and derive insights that guide business decisions. Your ability to establish a data-driven culture is evident in your previous roles, where you have driven the definition and operationalization of key metrics.

You thrive in collaborative environments, embedding yourself with teams such as GTM, User Ops, and Partnerships — your strong communication skills enable you to partner effectively with various stakeholders, ensuring that data insights are actionable and impactful.

You are passionate about building systems that guide investment decisions — your experience in developing dashboards and reports empowers teams to self-serve data and answer critical product questions. You continuously seek to synthesize learnings across the organization, sharing knowledge with other data scientists to foster a culture of growth and improvement.

Desirable

Experience with marketing analytics or foundational marketing science is a plus — you understand the nuances of how marketing drives growth and can translate complex data into strategic insights. What you'll do

In this role, you will partner closely with the Marketing team to define how success is measured and what drives growth — your insights will shape the strategies that guide where and how OpenAI invests in marketing initiatives. You will manage cross-functional data science projects that focus on revenue, pricing, and usage, ensuring that all aspects of the business are informed by data.

You will establish a data-driven culture by defining, tracking, and operationalizing metrics that matter — your expertise will help the team understand the impact of their efforts and adjust strategies accordingly. As you become an expert in OpenAI's data and systems, you will collaborate with Data Engineering and Finance teams to ensure that you can self-serve all underlying data for the business.

Your role will also involve developing and socializing dashboards and reports that enable the team to answer product data questions independently — you will be instrumental in creating a self-service data environment that empowers others to leverage insights effectively. By partnering with other data scientists across the company, you will share knowledge and continuously synthesize learnings to enhance the overall data strategy.
