OpenAI is hiring a Senior Product Manager to shape and build AI solutions for the public sector. You'll work on enabling governments to leverage AI technologies effectively. This role requires experience in high compliance environments and strong communication skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in product management, particularly in building software products for demanding customers in high compliance environments. Your technical depth and curiosity about AI models and tool stacks set you apart, allowing you to navigate complex requirements with ease. You possess stellar execution skills and excellent communication abilities, enabling you to articulate product visions clearly to diverse stakeholders.

You thrive in environments where innovation meets regulation, understanding the nuances of working with government agencies and public sector clients. Your experience has equipped you with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring that product development aligns with compliance standards. You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with engineers and designers to bring ideas to fruition.

Desirable

Experience in the AI sector or with AI-driven products is a plus, as is familiarity with government operations and the challenges they face in adopting new technologies. You are comfortable with travel, particularly to Washington DC, to engage with key stakeholders and understand their needs better.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and delivering key product and technical solutions that enable governments to leverage AI effectively. You will shape the product roadmap, ensuring that it aligns with OpenAI's mission to enhance public sector operations through innovative AI solutions. Your responsibilities will include orchestrating models and tools, establishing guardrails, and facilitating human interventions to improve agent applications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, conduct user research, and define success metrics for your products. Your role will involve regular communication with government agencies to understand their needs and challenges, ensuring that the solutions you develop are tailored to their specific contexts.
