What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at OpenGov, you will be responsible for architecting and developing APIs and microservices that support our Public Service Platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver features that enhance the user experience for over 100k daily users. Your role will involve leading technical discussions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring that best practices are followed throughout the development process.

You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and maintenance. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of local and state governments, helping them to operate more transparently and responsively. You will also have the opportunity to innovate and implement new technologies that align with our mission to power effective government.
