Overview

OSARO is hiring a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to participate in the research, development, and deployment of AI-enabled robot cells for material handling and logistics applications. You'll collaborate with various teams to design and integrate robotic hardware. This position requires expertise in mechatronics and related technologies.

Who you are

You have a strong background in mechatronics engineering, with experience in designing and deploying robotic systems for material handling and logistics applications. Your expertise includes working with hardware components such as sensors, actuators, and control devices, and you are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams including Operations, Software, and Machine Learning.

You are passionate about robotics and automation, and you take ownership of your projects, ensuring that you deliver high-quality results. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex engineering challenges, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where you can share ideas and learn from others.

Desirable

Experience with AI and machine learning technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with programming languages such as Python. You may also have experience with hardware control devices like PLCs and I/O couplers, which will be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and integrating new robotic hardware solutions. You will work closely with the Operations team to understand the requirements for material handling and logistics applications, ensuring that the robotic systems you develop meet these needs effectively.

You will collaborate with the Software and Machine Learning teams to integrate AI capabilities into the robotic cells, enhancing their functionality and efficiency. Testing and deploying these systems will be a critical part of your responsibilities, as you ensure that they operate reliably in real-world environments.

Your role will also involve designing end effectors, cameras, lighting, and other hardware components that are essential for the operation of the robotic cells. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechatronics and robotics, applying this knowledge to improve existing systems and develop innovative solutions.
