Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering, with a strong foundation in control concepts such as PID, deadband, and frequency response analysis. Your expertise in motor and drive systems, particularly in PID tuning, allows you to optimize performance effectively. You possess robust debugging skills and are familiar with standard lab test instruments like multimeters and oscilloscopes, enabling you to troubleshoot complex systems efficiently.
Your background includes mechanical design experience, where you have utilized CAD software to create technical drawings and prototypes. You are skilled in rapid prototyping techniques, including 3D printing and laser cutting, which are essential for developing innovative solutions. Additionally, you have experience with industrial automation electronics, including PLCs, which is crucial for integrating systems in a manufacturing environment.
Desirable
You are familiar with functional safety standards and have a keen interest in robotics and automation technologies. Your ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment is complemented by your strong communication skills, allowing you to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
What you'll do
As a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at GrayMatter Robotics, you will join our Design & Mechatronics team to explore, develop, and test novel robotic systems for implementation in the field. You will be responsible for designing control systems that enhance the performance of our robotic solutions, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of the manufacturing industry.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate our proprietary GMR-AI™ software with state-of-the-art industrial robots, sensors, and tools. Your role will involve hands-on testing and debugging of systems, utilizing your expertise in lab instruments to ensure optimal functionality.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our design processes, leveraging your mechanical design skills to create innovative prototypes that address specific customer needs. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster their professional growth.
What we offer
GrayMatter Robotics offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 - $150,000 USD, along with equity options.
