You have a strong background in data science with a focus on analytics and modeling — your experience includes driving insights through sophisticated measurement techniques and data mining. You are skilled in using data to improve system performance and efficiency, particularly in the insurance or healthcare sectors. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with operations and technology leaders to translate business goals into actionable strategies. Your expertise in SQL and Python allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, and you are comfortable presenting your findings to stakeholders at various levels.
Desirable
Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus, as is familiarity with claims processing systems. You have a knack for problem-solving and can think critically about data-driven initiatives. You are also open to mentoring junior data scientists and sharing your knowledge with the team.
What you'll do
As the Lead Data Scientist at Oscar, you will be responsible for driving the analytics and modeling efforts for our claims payment system. You will partner with senior leaders to design and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing system performance and automation. Your role will involve using advanced data mining techniques to extract insights that inform strategic decisions. You will also participate in team-wide discussions to establish long-term strategies and roadmaps for data initiatives. What we offer
Oscar provides a competitive salary range of $174,400 - $228,900 per year, along with comprehensive employee benefits and equity grants.
