Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or network operations, with a strong background in maintaining large-scale systems. Your expertise in Linux and networking allows you to troubleshoot complex issues effectively, ensuring high availability and performance of services. You are familiar with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and have experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes. Your skills in monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus and Grafana enable you to proactively manage system health and performance.

You possess a solid understanding of infrastructure as code principles and have hands-on experience with tools like Terraform and Ansible. Your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams ensures that you can effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. You are passionate about automation and continuously seek to improve processes and workflows.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI is a plus. Familiarity with security best practices in network operations will help you contribute to the overall security posture of the organization. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies as the landscape evolves.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of PhonePe's network infrastructure. You will monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to enhance system reliability. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing automation for operational tasks, as well as developing and maintaining documentation for processes and procedures.

You will collaborate closely with development teams to ensure that new features are designed with reliability in mind. This includes participating in architecture discussions and providing input on best practices for deployment and scaling. You will also be responsible for incident response, leading post-mortem analyses, and implementing improvements based on findings.

In addition to operational responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. You will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, advocating for best practices in site reliability engineering across the organization.
