Who you are
You have a strong background in engineering management with at least 2 years of experience leading teams in a technical environment. Your expertise in big data technologies and open source contributions sets you apart, as you understand the intricacies of data lake storage and metadata management. You are passionate about driving innovation and collaboration within your team and across the organization, ensuring that technical quality and excellence are at the forefront of your projects.
You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or have equivalent experience that demonstrates your technical acumen. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and partner teams is crucial, as you will be responsible for owning the technical vision and long-term roadmap of Pinterest’s data storage solutions. You thrive in environments that encourage creativity and innovation, and you are excited about the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies.
Desirable
Experience with open source technologies, particularly Apache Iceberg, Spark, and Flink, is highly desirable. You have a track record of engaging with open source communities and driving collaboration to address scaling challenges. Your understanding of machine learning and AI innovations will be beneficial as you architect solutions that unlock the potential of big data.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the technical vision and long-term roadmap for Pinterest’s exabyte data lake storage. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and partner teams to architect data lake storage and metadata management technologies that enable big data and machine learning innovations. Your leadership will drive engagement and collaboration with open source communities, ensuring that Pinterest remains at the forefront of technological advancements in data storage.
You will act as a stalwart of technical quality and excellence on your team, ensuring that the solutions delivered have a high level of polish and reliability.
