You have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or a related field, with a strong background in managing large-scale distributed systems. Your expertise in cloud platforms like AWS and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes allows you to design and implement robust solutions that ensure system reliability and performance.

You possess deep knowledge of programming languages, particularly Python, and are comfortable working in Linux environments. Your experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus enables you to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users. You are skilled in infrastructure as code practices, particularly with tools like Terraform, which you use to automate and streamline operations.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with engineering teams to build frameworks and best practices that enhance system reliability. Your analytical mindset helps you understand system behavior and identify opportunities for improvement, while your strong communication skills allow you to effectively share insights and recommendations with your team.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools is a plus, as is familiarity with incident management processes. You are passionate about continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices in site reliability engineering.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Pinterest, you will be responsible for developing software solutions that enhance the reliability and operability of our large-scale distributed systems. You will create tools and automation to eliminate toil and reduce operational overhead, ensuring that our systems can handle billions of monthly page views and petabytes of data efficiently. Collaborating with engineering teams, you will establish frameworks, processes, and best practices that will be used across Pinterest Engineering to improve overall system reliability.

Your role will also involve monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences.
