Job Description
Who you are
You hold a PhD or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline — your academic background has equipped you with the analytical skills necessary for conducting rigorous quantitative research. With over 2 years of experience developing statistical and fundamental alpha signals, you have a proven track record in the finance sector, particularly in single name credit, equities, or options. You are adept at working with large datasets, demonstrating your ability to extract meaningful insights from complex information.
Your experience with FICC, credit, or option pricing models is preferred, and you are familiar with numerical optimization methods — this knowledge allows you to contribute effectively to the research and production process. Solid programming skills are essential for you, particularly in Python, where you are proficient with packages used for data research and adhere to best practices in coding style. Strong communication skills enable you to articulate your findings and collaborate effectively with portfolio managers, developers, and traders.
You take ownership of your work, thriving both independently and as part of a team — your proactive approach to searching for and prioritizing new ideas and datasets showcases your commitment to continuous improvement in the investment process. You are eager to contribute to the development of fitting tools, data organization, and the generation of alphas, risk, and TC models.
Desirable
Experience with CI/CD frameworks would be a plus, as it complements your programming skills and enhances your ability to contribute to the team's infrastructure. Your willingness to learn and adapt to new methodologies will be beneficial in this fast-evolving field.
What you'll do
As a Quantitative Researcher at Point72, you will independently conduct quantitative research focused on systematic corporate bond and credit derivatives strategies. Your responsibilities will include contributing to all aspects of the research and production process, from implementing fitting tools to organizing data and generating alphas, risk, and TC models. You will also be involved in P&L attribution, ensuring that your research translates into actionable insights for the investment team.
You will proactively search for and prioritize new ideas and datasets that have alpha potential, contributing to the continuous improvement of the investment process and infrastructure. Collaborating closely with portfolio managers, developers, and traders, you will help refine the investment strategies and enhance the overall performance of the team.
Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest trends and methodologies in quantitative finance, allowing you to bring innovative solutions to the table. You will also be expected to communicate your findings effectively, ensuring that your insights are understood and actionable by your colleagues.
What we offer
Point72 offers a competitive annual base salary range of $150,000-$200,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package.
