Point72 is hiring an Equity Quantitative Researcher to perform innovative research in the equity market. You'll work with R and Python to develop systematic trading strategies. This position requires a strong foundation in statistics and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You hold an MS or PhD in physics, engineering, statistics, applied math, quantitative finance, or other quantitative fields, with a strong foundation in statistics. You have at least 1 year of work experience in systematic alpha research in equities, and experience developing short-term alpha signals is a plus. Your proficiency in R or Python allows you to manipulate large datasets efficiently, and you possess a strong knowledge of financial markets. You are highly motivated and willing to take ownership of your work while maintaining a collaborative mindset with strong independent research ability.
What you'll do
In this role, you will perform rigorous and innovative research to discover systematic anomalies in the equity market. You will be responsible for end-to-end development, including alpha idea generation, data processing, strategy backtesting, optimization, and production implementation. You will identify and evaluate new datasets for stock return predictions and maintain and improve the portfolio trading in a production environment. Your work will directly impact the trading strategies and performance of the portfolio, requiring you to stay updated with market trends and data analytics.
