Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related STEM discipline, and you possess advanced proficiency in Python and its ecosystem, including libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-Learn. Your understanding of Python and library internals sets you apart, and experience contributing to core Python numerical libraries is a huge plus. You are proficient with Linux and have hands-on experience with software architecture and engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and version control. Your strong quantitative and analytical skills are complemented by a command of linear algebra, statistics, and machine learning, which would be helpful in this role. Proficiency with C/C++ and experience in designing and implementing trading systems are also advantageous.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for building components for both live trading and simulation, ensuring that the systems are robust and automated. You will refine and enhance the research infrastructure, focusing on alpha estimation, risk modeling, and backtesting components. Your work will involve building tools for signal blending, simulation, portfolio construction, and dashboards, all while maintaining and updating the platform to ensure its stability, robustness, and security. You will also develop robust data checking and storage procedures, troubleshoot and resolve any systems-related issues, and handle the release of code fixes and enhancements. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the trading strategies deployed by Cubist Systematic Strategies.
