Who you are

You are an accomplished technician with extensive experience in R&D environments, particularly in the assembly and testing of advanced electronic systems. Your strong engineering fundamentals and product mindset enable you to tackle complex engineering challenges effectively. You have a background in precision electronics, RF, or optoelectronics, which is highly desirable for this role, although not essential. As a senior member of the team, you are also comfortable mentoring junior technicians and contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory practices. Your hands-on technical expertise allows you to support engineers and scientists across hardware and research teams effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support the development of new quantum sensor prototypes and products within the Quantum Sensing division at Q-CTRL. You will be responsible for the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced electronic systems, ensuring high-quality hardware and documentation. Your contributions will play a key role in building and maintaining prototype systems that are crucial for the deployment of software-ruggedised quantum gravimeters, accelerometers, and magnetometers. You will collaborate closely with engineers and scientists, providing technical support and guidance throughout the development process. Additionally, you will help foster a culture of continuous improvement within the laboratory, sharing your knowledge and expertise with junior team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
