Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in Android development, and have a strong understanding of test automation frameworks. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about building quality into software from the ground up. Your experience includes designing and developing tools that enhance testing processes and improve overall software quality. You are adept at analyzing production issues and identifying gaps in testing, making you a key player in driving systemic improvements. You have a proactive approach to maintaining test infrastructure stability and enjoy troubleshooting issues across teams to achieve root cause resolution. Your influence extends across the engineering organization, advocating for best practices in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Desirable
Experience with continuous integration and deployment practices would be a plus, as well as familiarity with various testing methodologies. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have a knack for mentoring junior engineers in best testing practices.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and evolving test automation frameworks and tools that support the Quality Engineering team at Reddit. You will collaborate closely with software feature development teams to instill a culture of quality throughout the engineering process. Your responsibilities will include analyzing production issues to identify test gaps and implementing improvements to the automated testing stack. You will maintain the stability of test infrastructure in non-production environments, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will participate in troubleshooting and triaging issues, working with various teams to drive towards effective root cause identification and resolution. Your role will also involve influencing the engineering organization on testing practices, ensuring that unit, integration, and end-to-end tests are prioritized and executed effectively.
