You have a strong background in managing hardware royalty costs and licensing agreements, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Your expertise includes reading, interpreting, and negotiating complex contracts, particularly with patent assertion entities. You are skilled in developing deal structures and negotiation strategies, collaborating closely with legal teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to translate complex legal terms into actionable processes for cross-functional teams. Your analytical mindset enables you to optimize costs and improve reporting accuracy, ensuring that all royalty agreements are adhered to and effectively managed. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable working with various teams to achieve common goals.
Desirable
Experience in the technology or media industry is a plus, as is familiarity with patent pools and licensing administrators. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and developing solutions that benefit both the company and its partners. What you'll do
As the Hardware Royalty & Licensing Manager at Roku, you will lead the end-to-end management of hardware royalty costs for Roku-branded televisions and devices. Your primary responsibility will be to negotiate licensing agreements with patent assertion entities, ensuring that all terms are favorable and compliant with company policies. You will work closely with the Royalty Accounting and Product Management teams to translate these agreements into operational processes that enhance transparency and efficiency.
You will develop and implement strategies for license negotiations, collaborating with legal and relevant stakeholders to create effective deal structures. Your role will involve interpreting contracts and ensuring that all operational teams understand their implications, leading to accurate reporting and cost optimization.
In addition to negotiation and contract management, you will monitor industry trends and changes in licensing practices, adapting strategies as necessary to maintain Roku's competitive edge.
