Overview

Saronic is seeking a Mechanical Integration Engineer to integrate complex subsystems within larger mechanical assemblies. You'll work with mechanical, electrical, optical, and sensing systems in Austin, Texas.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly in integrating complex subsystems within larger mechanical assemblies. Your experience includes working at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, optical, and sensing systems, ensuring cohesive and reliable integration into overall platforms. You are skilled in packaging sensitive electronics and routing cabling, and you have a keen eye for designing payload interfaces, access panels, and mounting hardware. You understand the importance of functional harmony across subsystems and are adept at closing gaps between component and system-level thinking.

You possess a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and are familiar with industry standards for mechanical integration. Your ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams allows you to effectively communicate and implement design solutions that meet project requirements. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work that enhances maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Integration Engineer at Saronic, you will play a critical role in the integration of complex subsystems within larger mechanical assemblies. You will collaborate with electrical, optical, and sensing engineers to ensure that all components work seamlessly together. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing packaging solutions for sensitive electronics, routing cabling efficiently, and creating access panels and mounting hardware that meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.

You will be involved in the entire integration process, from initial design concepts to final assembly, ensuring that all systems are manufacturable and reliable. Your work will require you to think critically about how different subsystems interact and to propose solutions that enhance overall system performance. You will also be responsible for conducting tests and evaluations to validate the integration of subsystems, making adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal functionality.

What we offer

At Saronic, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing autonomy at sea. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will directly impact the development of state-of-the-art solutions for maritime operations. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology and enhance the capabilities of autonomous platforms. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
