Job Description
Who you are
You are a current PhD student in a quantitative or technical field such as statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or computer science, ideally with one year left in your academic program. You possess excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, C, and C++, which you have utilized in your academic projects or previous internships. Your analytical mindset allows you to understand complex economic domains and extract insights from alternative data offerings. You are eager to collaborate with senior researchers and developers, contributing to innovative research projects that drive the success of a quantitative trading business.
What you'll do
As a Quantitative Research Intern, you will be directly responsible for advancing alpha research within your assigned portfolio manager team. You will identify compelling differentiating factors and design novel predictive signals that can enhance trading strategies. Your role will involve backtesting and validating hypotheses to ensure the robustness of your research findings. Throughout the 10-week internship program, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced team members, gaining insights into the intricacies of quantitative research and trading. You will also engage in networking opportunities with peers, fostering relationships that could benefit your future career.
What we offer
At Schonfeld, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration. The internship provides a competitive annual base pay expected to be between $175,000 and $220,000, prorated based on your internship duration. You will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, working on projects that have a direct impact on the firm's trading strategies.
