You excel in collaborative leadership, working closely with product management and engineering teams to drive successful outcomes. Your ability to develop and enable Engineering Managers is key, as you believe in embedding a culture of ownership and accountability within your teams. You understand the importance of scalable architecture and engineering quality, ensuring that your teams deliver reliable solutions that meet regulatory requirements.

You are comfortable operating in a domain with deep regulatory responsibility and technical complexity — your experience has equipped you with the skills to navigate these challenges effectively. You have a track record of leading multiple squads, ensuring that each team is aligned with the overall technical direction and business goals. Your leadership style is inclusive and empowering, fostering an environment where engineers feel supported and motivated to excel.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the long-term technical strategy for the Accounts domain, which is critical to Seccl's mission of transforming the investment industry. You will provide collaborative leadership across architecture, risk, delivery, and team growth, ensuring that your teams are equipped to handle the complexities of the financial landscape. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will partner closely with the Group Product Manager for Accounts, working in a dual-leadership model to drive the success of your domain.

You will guide the technical direction for 4–6 squads, ensuring that they adhere to best practices in engineering quality and scalable architecture. Your role will involve developing and enabling Engineering Managers, embedding a culture of ownership and shared accountability through a ‘build it, run it’ approach. You will also be responsible for quarterly travel to Edinburgh or Bath, ensuring that you maintain strong connections with all teams across locations.
