Overview
Sezzle is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design software applications and features using Golang and React. You'll work on building distributed architectures and mentoring other engineers. This position requires at least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have at least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience, bringing new ideas and building consensus on the path forward. Your expertise includes building and serving REST APIs using Go, Java, or Python, and you have experience working in a distributed, cloud-based architecture. You hold a BS in Computer Science or a similar degree, and you are comfortable coordinating with internal stakeholders to design market-winning products.
You are skilled in developing and collecting metrics to drive continuous improvement of existing products. Your ability to deliver high-quality features that adhere to reporting standards is a key strength. You enjoy mentoring other engineering teammates, helping to elevate their experience and knowledge, and you are capable of leading small development teams to bring projects to market.
Desirable
Experience with SQL-based RDMS through an ORM is preferred, as is familiarity with design patterns like transactional outboxes or queuing tools such as RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka. You thrive in environments that value transparency and feedback, and you are eager to contribute to a culture that emphasizes continuous improvement.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design software applications and features primarily using Golang and React. You will help build out a distributed architecture, creating solutions that work within it while maintaining consistency as the system scales. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with internal company stakeholders to design products that meet market needs and developing metrics to drive continuous improvement.
You will deliver high-quality features that can be tested and adhere to reporting standards. As needed, you will lead small development teams to bring projects to market, ensuring that your team is aligned and motivated. Mentoring other engineering teammates will be a key part of your role, as you help elevate their skills and knowledge.
