Shapeways is hiring a Process Engineer to enhance their digital manufacturing platform. You'll focus on part and tool design, drive continuous improvement, and ensure quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes. This role requires expertise in injection molding principles.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in injection molding processes, and are passionate about driving quality and efficiency in manufacturing. Your analytical abilities enable you to contribute significantly to part and tool design, ensuring that new product launches are successful and streamlined. You thrive in environments that prioritize innovation and continuous improvement, and you are eager to apply scientific principles to enhance manufacturing processes.

You possess experience in leading the qualification of new tooling and established molding process parameters, utilizing techniques such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Your ability to analyze data and standardize molding process limits is crucial in minimizing defective products and enhancing overall production quality. You are committed to advancing manufacturing practices and are excited about the opportunity to work with a team that values automation and digitization in production.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead initiatives focused on the qualification of new tooling and established molding process parameters. You will spearhead standardization efforts for molding process limits through rigorous data analysis, aiming to minimize defective products and enhance production efficiency. Your responsibilities will include conducting process improvement initiatives that leverage scientific injection molding principles to drive quality and efficiency.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to shape new product launch processes, ensuring that all aspects of production align with Shapeways' commitment to quality. Your role will involve analyzing production data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance manufacturing capabilities. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
