Who you are

You are an experienced Senior Network Engineering professional with a strong background in designing and implementing enterprise network infrastructures. You have a proven track record of ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity across corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments. Your strategic planning skills are complemented by hands-on technical oversight, allowing you to drive network modernization, resilience, and performance effectively.

You possess deep expertise in network operations and architecture, having led datacenter network operation cycles that include architecture, operations, troubleshooting, and monitoring. Your experience managing WAN connectivity, including ISP relationships and BGP peering, has equipped you with the skills to plan and oversee changes to production networks, including hardware and software upgrades. You are adept at evaluating and recommending new solutions, hardware, and technologies for integration.

As a leader, you provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to network engineers on your team. You set priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence to best practices and operational standards. You foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence, empowering your team to excel in their roles.

You understand the importance of monitoring and compliance in network operations. You oversee the implementation and operation of monitoring tools and ensure that the network infrastructure adheres to compliance standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence make you a valuable asset to any organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and operations of the enterprise network infrastructure that supports Shift4's global business operations. You will ensure reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity across corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments. Your responsibilities will include managing the datacenter network operation cycle, overseeing architecture, operations, troubleshooting, and monitoring.

You will manage WAN connectivity, including ISP relationships, BGP peering, and private connections. Planning and overseeing changes to the production network, including hardware and software upgrades, will be a key part of your role. You will evaluate and recommend new solutions, hardware, and technologies for integration into the existing network infrastructure.

As a mentor, you will provide guidance and coaching to network engineers on your team. You will set priorities, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence to best practices and operational standards. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the team.

You will also oversee the implementation and operation of monitoring tools to ensure compliance with industry standards. Your role will require occasional travel (10%) to data centers and domestic/international offices, allowing you to maintain a hands-on approach to network operations.
