Shift4 is hiring a Senior Risk Associate to manage complex merchant portfolios and assess brand risk applications. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of card scheme rules and financial analysis.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in risk management, particularly in assessing regulatory, reputational, and financial risks associated with complex merchant portfolios. Your experience includes conducting deep-dive assessments of risk applications in sectors such as Gaming, Crypto, and Adult industries. You are adept at applying card scheme rules and have a keen eye for identifying potential risks through thorough financial statement analysis.
You possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to monitor ongoing merchant activities and ensure compliance with industry standards. Your ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting officers and other stakeholders is crucial in providing a comprehensive view of merchant applications. You are proactive in raising suspicious activity reports and liaising with merchants during scheme investigations, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining high compliance standards.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be the primary gatekeeper for Shift4's most complex merchant portfolios, responsible for assessing new and existing brand risk applications. You will conduct detailed evaluations to identify regulatory, reputational, and financial exposures, ensuring that all merchant accounts align with compliance expectations. Your responsibilities will include ongoing reviews of merchant accounts and collaborating with underwriting officers to gain insights into merchant applications.
You will apply your understanding of card scheme rules during risk assessments and raise suspicious activity reports with both UK and EU Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLRO). Your role will also involve assessing merchants' business models and financial positions through comprehensive financial analysis, allowing you to identify potential risks and escalate issues as necessary. Your contributions will be vital in supporting process improvements across the business and ensuring that Shift4 continues to lead in commerce-enabling technology.
