Overview
Sigmoid is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to build large-scale Big Data architectures. You'll work primarily with Java and Python, focusing on application development and integration. This position requires 3-5 years of experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 3-5 years of experience in software development, particularly in building large-scale applications. Your strong programming skills in Java, Python, C++, or Scala enable you to tackle complex coding challenges effectively. You possess a solid understanding of programming principles and development practices, including unit testing and code deployment. As a hands-on coder, you are adept at translating new concepts and technologies into practical engineering solutions. You have experience in application development, integration development, and data management, which allows you to interface with clients and understand their strategic requirements. Your analytical mindset helps you stay updated on the latest technologies to ensure optimal ROI for both customers and Sigmoid.
Desirable
Experience with enterprise-level code and architecture is a plus, as is familiarity with data modeling, data mining, and warehousing. You should be capable of developing frameworks and design patterns while guiding junior staff through technical challenges. Your ability to work with large, complex data sets from various sources will be essential in this role.
