Who you are
You are an enthusiastic Hardware Development Specialist with a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering. You thrive on building, fixing, and improving hardware, and you enjoy collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to support various prototyping efforts. Your hands-on experience includes performing board-level rework and debugging, as well as building and repairing electromechanical assemblies that interface with drones and test equipment.
You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in creating neat, reliable wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and box builds. Your ability to identify root causes of failure and propose corrective actions is a key strength that you bring to the team. You are comfortable working in a lab environment equipped with 3D printers, electrical equipment, and fabrication tools, and you are eager to learn and adapt to new challenges.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support the Hardware Development team by designing and fabricating custom fixtures, prototypes, and tooling that keep product design and testing moving efficiently. You will perform board-level rework and debug down to fine-pitch SMT, ensuring that products are ready for testing and deployment. Your responsibilities will also include building and repairing electromechanical assemblies that interface with Skydio drones and test equipment, which is crucial for the success of our products.
You will create reliable wire harnesses and cable assemblies, ensuring that all components are properly integrated and functioning as intended. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with electrical, software, and reliability teams to ensure that all hardware meets the necessary specifications and quality standards. Your contributions will directly impact the speed and efficiency of our product development process, allowing us to deliver cutting-edge drone technology to our customers.
