Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with expertise in building full-stack solutions — your experience includes developing intuitive frontend interfaces and robust backend services. You are proficient in Python and JavaScript, particularly with frameworks like React and TypeScript, and you understand the intricacies of API design and integration.

You have a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and have experience working with geospatial data and mapping technologies such as Mapbox. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Autonomy, Backend Infrastructure, and Product teams, to deliver high-quality solutions.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Skydio, you will be responsible for developing and improving the geospatial and mission-planning systems that power our autonomous drones. You will build and maintain secure, scalable APIs and services that handle large datasets, enabling enterprise-grade drone operations. Your role will involve integrating geospatial capabilities with autonomy systems and AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability.

You will collaborate closely with Autonomy engineers and product teams to iterate rapidly on features, integrating feedback to enhance user experience. Your work will directly impact how our customers plan advanced aerial missions and visualize complex spatial data, making a significant contribution to the future of aerial mobility.
