Smartsheet is seeking an experienced Account Executive to drive sales within the State and Local Government sector. You'll navigate complex procurement processes and develop relationships with key decision-makers. This role requires a proven track record in quota attainment.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in sales, particularly within the State and Local Government sector, with a proven history of exceeding quotas and developing customer accounts. Your experience includes navigating complex government procurement processes and understanding the intricacies of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs). You are adept at building relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies and staying informed about regulations and compliance requirements related to software procurement. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to tailor sales presentations and proposals to meet the specific needs and challenges of your clients. You thrive in a solution-based sales environment, working collaboratively with multiple groups within accounts that have 2,000 to 10,000 employees.
Desirable
Experience in the Midwest region is a plus, as is familiarity with the software solutions offered by Smartsheet. A background in public sector sales will enhance your ability to connect with potential clients and understand their unique challenges.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and prospecting new business opportunities within the State and Local Government sector. You will navigate the complexities of government procurement cycles, ensuring that you understand and respond effectively to RFPs and RFQs. Building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers will be crucial to your success, as you will need to tailor your sales approach to address their specific needs. You will work closely with a Regional Director in Public Sector Sales, reporting on your progress and strategies for exceeding sales quotas. Your role will involve executing a solution-based sales process that encompasses multiple groups within larger accounts, ensuring that you are meeting the diverse needs of your clients.
