Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in sales, particularly within the State and Local Government sector, with a proven history of exceeding quotas and developing customer accounts. Your experience includes navigating complex government procurement processes and understanding the nuances of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs). You excel at building relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies and are well-versed in government regulations and compliance requirements related to software procurement. You are adept at tailoring sales presentations and proposals to meet the specific needs and challenges of State and Local Government clients. Your ability to develop and prospect new business opportunities is complemented by your strategic approach to sales, ensuring that you can execute a solution-based sales process effectively.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales within the State and Local Government sector, focusing on California. You will navigate the complexities of government procurement processes, ensuring that you understand and respond effectively to RFPs and RFQs. Building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies will be a critical part of your role, as you work to understand their specific needs and challenges. You will tailor your sales presentations and proposals accordingly, demonstrating how Smartsheet's solutions can address their unique requirements. Exceeding software and services sales quotas will be a key performance indicator for you, as you execute a solution-based sales process that encompasses multiple groups within accounts that have between 2,000 and 10,000 employees. You will also be responsible for developing and prospecting new business opportunities, ensuring that you stay up-to-date on industry trends and government regulations that may impact your sales strategy.
