Snowflake is hiring an Engineering Manager Performance to lead the Capacity, Performance & Efficiency team in Berlin. You'll develop distributed performance frameworks and collaborate on resource management systems. This role requires experience in cloud infrastructure and performance optimization.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering management with a focus on performance optimization in cloud environments — your experience includes leading teams that build systems for measuring and improving performance across distributed infrastructures. You understand the intricacies of CPU, memory, and storage hardware, and have a proven track record of enhancing system efficiency and reliability.

You possess deep knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP — your expertise allows you to navigate the complexities of multi-cloud environments and implement solutions that maximize performance and cost efficiency. You are skilled in developing frameworks that operate at hyperscale, ensuring that systems can handle increasing loads without compromising on speed or reliability.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Engineering Execution for the Capacity, Performance & Efficiency team — guiding your team in building software that continuously measures and improves system performance across multi-cloud fleets. You will develop distributed performance frameworks and profilers that operate at hyperscale, collaborating closely with capacity and hardware engineering teams to validate new technologies and approaches.

You will be responsible for adaptive scheduling, placement, and resource management systems that enhance efficiency and predictability — your leadership will directly influence how Snowflake scales globally and how efficiently workloads run on next-generation hardware. You will foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, encouraging your team to challenge ordinary thinking and push the pace of technological advancement.
