Overview

Snowflake is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design and implement security architecture for their products. You'll work closely with engineering teams to enhance security measures and automate controls. This role requires expertise in product security and strong engineering skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in security engineering, particularly in product security, where you've designed and implemented security solutions that protect software products. Your deep understanding of secure design principles allows you to influence architecture decisions effectively. You possess a strong engineering mindset, enabling you to collaborate with developers and understand their needs while ensuring security is prioritized. You are familiar with multi-cloud environments and have experience leading threat modeling and security assessments for complex systems. Your technical skills include proficiency in security tools and automation, which you leverage to enhance developer autonomy and streamline security processes.

Desirable

Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards is a plus, as is familiarity with DevSecOps practices. You may also have knowledge of security automation tools and scripting languages that help in building scalable security solutions. A background in cloud security, particularly with AWS, is highly desirable, as is experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.

What you'll do

As a Senior Security Engineer at Snowflake, you will design and evolve security architecture across the company's products, focusing on creating secure-by-default systems. You will lead initiatives for threat modeling and conduct secure design reviews, ensuring that security is integrated into every stage of the product lifecycle. Your role will involve collaborating closely with product and infrastructure engineering teams to influence architectural decisions and automate security controls. You will build and scale security tooling and services that empower developers to operate securely while maintaining agility. Additionally, you will continuously assess and raise the security bar across the platform, ensuring that Snowflake's products remain secure and resilient against emerging threats.
