Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly with .NET technologies, and have a proven track record of building high-performance applications. Your expertise in C# and ASP.NET allows you to design and implement robust APIs that enhance developer experience. You are a fast learner who thrives in collaborative environments and are passionate about creating tools that empower other engineers.
You understand the importance of API quality, performance, reliability, and security. You have experience leading projects from requirements gathering through to implementation and long-term maintenance, ensuring that all components meet high standards. Your familiarity with profiling and benchmarking tools, such as BenchmarkDotNet, enables you to drive performance improvements effectively.
You are skilled in establishing public API standards, including naming conventions, async patterns, and versioning, which are crucial for maintaining compatibility and usability across the .NET ecosystem. Your attention to detail ensures that you uphold these standards throughout the development process.
You have a strong background in diagnostics and observability, utilizing structured logging, correlation IDs, and metrics to enhance the user experience. You are adept at implementing error handling and retries, ensuring that your applications are resilient and user-friendly.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure would be a plus, as would familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira. You are open to learning new technologies and adapting to the evolving landscape of software development.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Snowflake, you will design, build, and own core components of the Snowflake .NET Driver and related client SDKs. Your focus will be on delivering reliable, high-performance connectivity and first-class APIs that enhance the developer experience for thousands of engineers. You will lead projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering and technical design to implementation, testing, documentation, and long-term maintenance.
You will establish and uphold public API standards for .NET, ensuring that naming conventions, async patterns, and versioning are consistently applied. Your role will involve driving performance and resilience improvements through profiling, benchmarking, and efficient memory management. You will enhance diagnostics and observability by implementing structured logging, correlation IDs, and actionable error messages for customers.
Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other engineers to ensure that the tools you develop meet the needs of the broader engineering community. You will participate in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
