Who you are
You have a strong background in automation and controls engineering, with experience in designing and managing automation projects. Your expertise includes writing and debugging PLC code, and you are familiar with robotics and motion systems. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about leveraging technology to improve production processes.
You possess a solid understanding of factory health monitoring and are skilled in machine design. Your ability to lead multi-disciplinary projects makes you an ideal candidate for this role. You are detail-oriented and have a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
Desirable
Experience with high-rate manufacturing environments is a plus. Familiarity with satellite technology or broadband systems would be advantageous, as would knowledge of advanced automation techniques and tools.
What you'll do
As an Automation & Controls Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing automation projects that are critical to the Starlink production process. This includes initial factory ideation, machine commissioning, and ensuring proof of rate capability before handing off to operational teams. You will architect and write PLC code, focusing on generating efficient and reliable code that meets production demands.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions into existing systems, enhancing overall factory performance. Your role will involve troubleshooting and optimizing automation processes to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability.
