Overview

SpaceX is hiring an Automation & Controls Specialist to build and commission automation assets for the Starlink production. You'll work with EPLAN and PLC systems to enhance production reliability. This role requires experience in electrical and pneumatic controls.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in automation and controls, with experience in building and commissioning electromechanical systems. You are proficient in creating and modifying electrical and pneumatic schematics using EPLAN and Visio software. Your expertise includes wiring and validating control systems, ensuring they meet industry standards such as NFPA 79 and UL 508A. You have a solid understanding of PLC and HMI software applications, allowing you to design and implement effective automation solutions. You are detail-oriented and focused on long-term reliability rather than quick fixes, ensuring that production systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

What you'll do

As an Automation & Controls Specialist at SpaceX, you will be responsible for building, installing, and commissioning new automation assets for the Starlink production line. You will create and modify electrical and pneumatic schematics, ensuring they are accurate and up to date. Your role will involve wiring and validating electromechanical and pneumatic control systems, as well as building control panels that adhere to NFPA 79 and UL 508A standards. You will design and commission PLC and HMI software applications, contributing to the overall functionality of the automation systems. Additionally, you will assist in troubleshooting complex controls issues within existing SpaceX assets, focusing on implementing long-term repairs that enhance system reliability. Your work will play a crucial role in supporting SpaceX's mission to provide reliable internet connectivity through the Starlink project.
