You have 5+ years of experience in automation and controls engineering, with a strong background in designing and implementing automation systems. Your expertise includes programming PLCs and working with robotics, enabling you to effectively manage complex automation projects from ideation to execution.

You possess a deep understanding of factory health monitoring systems and motion control, allowing you to optimize production processes and ensure operational efficiency. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by your ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, driving innovative solutions in high-rate manufacturing environments.

What you'll do

As a Senior Automation & Controls Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the design and development of automation projects for Starlink production. This includes overseeing the initial factory ideation, machine commissioning, and proof of rate capability, ensuring that all systems meet operational standards before hand-off to operational teams.

You will architect, write, and debug PLC code, focusing on generating efficient and reliable code that enhances automation processes. Your role will involve collaborating with engineers from various disciplines to integrate automation solutions that support the production of the world's most advanced broadband internet system.

You will also be responsible for monitoring factory health and performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that increase productivity and reduce downtime. Your contributions will play a crucial role in maximizing Starlink's utility for communities and businesses around the world.
