You have a strong background in chemical engineering with experience in designing and troubleshooting fluid systems, particularly in high-stakes environments like aerospace. Your knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics allows you to tackle complex engineering challenges effectively. You are comfortable leading a team of technicians and ensuring that all aspects of ground support equipment are properly designed and tested. Desirable
Experience with cryogenic fluid systems is a plus, as is familiarity with launch pad operations. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and are always looking for ways to improve processes and systems. What you'll do
As a Chemical Engineer at SpaceX, you will serve as the responsible engineer for multiple launch pad fluid systems, including compressible and incompressible fluids. You will utilize your expertise to troubleshoot issues and ensure that all systems meet the interface requirements for Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy. Your role will involve directing a skilled technician workforce during the build campaign, ensuring accurate installation and activation of fluid systems. You will also contribute to the design and operational procedures, working closely with other engineers to maximize efficiency without compromising safety.
You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of the fluid systems, from design through testing and operational support. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough analyses of system performance and implementing improvements based on your findings. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that all engineering solutions align with SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.
