Job Description
Who you are
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience in precision mechanical inspection. Your background includes selecting and utilizing standard gauges to ensure quality and performing complex inspections on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials. You are familiar with programming and setting up Articulating Arms and CMMs to achieve desired inspections. Your attention to detail ensures that all parts meet specifications and standards, and you are adept at documenting non-conformance when necessary. You are willing to travel up to 30% of the time to perform visual and dimensional inspections at supplier sites.
What you'll do
In this role, you will select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality across various mechanical parts and assemblies. You will inspect feature tolerances by choosing the appropriate tools with the required accuracy. Your responsibilities will include programming and setting up Articulating Arms and CMMs to conduct complex inspections. You will review and verify documentation, certifications, and specifications to ensure conformance to design requirements. Additionally, you will inspect flight hardware at suppliers according to engineering drawings and industry standards, ensuring that all parts meet SpaceX specifications. You will support the development of inspection plans and the supplier corrective action process, verifying the implementation of corrective actions when necessary.
