Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Spaceport Engineer for their Starbase Development team to design and build complex engineering projects. You'll work with elite engineers to enable orbital launch capability for the Starship. This position requires expertise in mechanical and electrical systems.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in designing and coordinating MEP systems for various projects. You are skilled in using AutoCAD and have a solid understanding of construction processes and compliance with applicable codes and standards. Your project management experience allows you to effectively oversee construction activities and manage contracts with subcontractors.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-departmental teams to define project requirements and derive detailed design specifications. Your ability to solve conflicts during construction and expedite the design process is a key strength. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet project goals.

What you'll do

As a Spaceport Engineer, you will lead the design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems for infrastructure projects at SpaceX's Starbase. You will prepare and review design drawings and documents, ensuring they meet the necessary specifications for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your role will involve managing construction activities related to MEP systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.

You will collaborate closely with a team of elite engineers and construction project managers, contributing to the design and build of infrastructure that supports orbital launch capabilities for the Starship. Your responsibilities will include writing and managing construction contracts with subcontractors, overseeing project control tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and cost control. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
