Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree and have a solid understanding of U.S. export laws, particularly ITAR and EAR regulations. With at least 2 years of experience in a compliance role, you are adept at identifying export risks and compliance gaps, and you have a knack for designing effective mitigation strategies. Your ability to communicate complex legal concepts to engineers and other stakeholders makes you a valuable asset to any team.

You are proactive in conducting technical data reviews and managing compliance procedures related to U.S. export laws. Your analytical skills allow you to conduct thorough risk assessments and audits, and you are committed to developing remedial measures for compliance infractions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with attorneys and compliance professionals to ensure adherence to legal standards.

What you'll do

As a Legal and Compliance Analyst at SpaceX, you will support the global trade compliance team on various programs, including Falcon, Starship, Dragon, and Starlink. Your primary responsibilities will include drafting, submitting, and managing compliance with ITAR licenses and agreements, as well as EAR licenses and license exceptions. You will proactively identify and qualify export risks, compliance gaps, and emerging issues, designing and recommending effective business solutions.

You will conduct jurisdiction and classification exercises and determinations, ensuring that all compliance procedures are followed meticulously. Advising and educating internal stakeholders on U.S. export laws will be a key part of your role, as you help them navigate the complexities of ITAR and EAR authorizations. Additionally, you will research U.S. federal statutes, regulations, directives, and guidance related to export laws, keeping the team informed of any changes that may impact compliance.
