Overview
SpaceX is hiring a Legal and Compliance Analyst for their Global Trade Compliance team. You'll support export control matters and work closely with legal professionals and engineers. This role requires a bachelor's degree and relevant experience in compliance.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, particularly in global trade compliance. You possess a strong understanding of U.S. export laws, including ITAR and EAR, and have experience managing compliance procedures. Your ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks is complemented by excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively advise and educate internal stakeholders.
You are detail-oriented and proactive, with a knack for conducting thorough technical data reviews and risk assessments. Your analytical mindset enables you to research and interpret U.S. federal statutes and regulations related to export laws, ensuring that compliance gaps are addressed promptly. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with attorneys, engineers, and other compliance professionals to achieve common goals.
What you'll do
In this role, you will draft, submit, and manage compliance with ITAR licenses and agreements, as well as EAR licenses and exceptions. You will proactively identify export risks and compliance gaps, designing and recommending effective mitigation strategies. Conducting technical data reviews related to U.S. export laws will be a key responsibility, as will supporting jurisdiction and classification exercises.
You will manage compliance procedures related to U.S. export laws, continuously identifying and implementing improvements to enhance compliance effectiveness. Advising and educating internal stakeholders on export policies and procedures will be crucial, as will conducting risk assessments and audits to develop remedial measures for any compliance infractions.
