Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of experience designing, installing, or troubleshooting electrical control systems. You are comfortable reading and interpreting planning documents, schematics, datasheets, manuals, drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches. You possess hands-on skills with tools and instruments necessary for fabricating and installing parts and systems used in launch environments.

You have experience connecting and verifying pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other sensors, and you are adept at installing connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs. Your background includes completing necessary wiring of electrical ground support equipment for ground systems, and you are familiar with collaborating with launch engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from launch activities.

What you'll do

As a Controls Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting various technical documents to ensure the proper functioning of ground hardware and test equipment. You will adjust, repair, or replace faulty components as needed, ensuring that all systems are operational for launch activities. Your role will involve fabricating and installing parts and systems using hand tools and power tools, as well as connecting and verifying sensors critical to launch operations.

You will collaborate closely with launch engineers to troubleshoot any issues that arise during launch activities, laying out, building, testing, and modifying wiring of electronics racks and junction boxes. Additionally, you will perform maintenance tasks across various roles, including vehicle integration, pad maintenance, and general facilities upkeep to maintain an operational launch site. Your contributions will be vital in supporting SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars.
