Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in high-reliability electronics for aerospace applications. Your background includes developing complex electronic systems and you are comfortable with schematic capture, prototyping, and debugging. You possess strong leadership skills and are eager to mentor less experienced engineers, guiding them through technical challenges and fostering their growth.

Your expertise includes proficiency in tools such as Altium Designer and AutoCAD, which you have used to create detailed designs and documentation. You have hands-on experience with embedded systems and are familiar with the challenges of hardware integration in high-stakes environments. Your ability to analyze and optimize electronic components ensures that you can deliver reliable solutions under tight deadlines.

You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive new technology introductions and manage risks associated with hardware development. Your communication skills allow you to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, ensuring alignment across the organization.

Desirable

Experience with LabVIEW for testing and validation of electronic systems is a plus. Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. You are passionate about space exploration and are motivated by the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technologies that will enable human life on Mars.

What you'll do

As a Senior Electrical Engineer on the Starship Avionics team, you will rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for rockets and spacecraft. You will lead technical initiatives, managing risks and changes across the program while driving the introduction of new technologies. Your responsibilities will include system trades, requirements capture, component selection, and analysis, ensuring that all designs meet stringent performance criteria.

You will be involved in schematic capture and prototyping, bringing designs to life and debugging them through rigorous testing. Your role will also encompass creating development and qualification testing campaigns, pushing designs to their limits to ensure they can withstand the harsh conditions of space travel.

Supporting hardware through production and integration will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you work to ensure that all systems function seamlessly together. You will collaborate with manufacturing teams to oversee the production process, ensuring that quality standards are met and that any issues are addressed promptly.
