Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Printed Circuit Board Reliability Engineer to ensure the highest quality and reliability standards for the Starlink project. You'll work with Altium Designer and Embedded Linux to design and develop PCB stackups. This role requires significant experience in PCB design and reliability engineering.

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in printed circuit board (PCB) design and reliability engineering, demonstrating a strong understanding of PCB stackups and materials. Your expertise includes working with Altium Designer and Eagle, allowing you to create high-quality designs that meet rigorous standards. You are familiar with embedded systems and have experience with Embedded Linux, which enhances your ability to contribute to complex hardware projects. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with design engineers and other stakeholders to drive innovation and ensure product success.

You possess a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in your work. Your analytical skills enable you to assess and mitigate risks associated with PCB reliability, ensuring that the designs you produce can withstand the demands of real-world applications. You are proactive in seeking out new materials and technologies that can enhance the performance and reliability of PCB designs, demonstrating your dedication to continuous improvement.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or aerospace applications is a plus, as it will provide valuable context for your work on the Starlink project. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in PCB design and reliability will further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the design and development of PCB stackups as part of new PCB designs for the Starlink project. You will drive the introduction of new materials, collaborating closely with design engineers to ensure that the designs meet both performance and reliability requirements. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough testing and analysis of PCB designs to identify potential failure modes and implementing solutions to mitigate these risks.

You will work with cross-functional teams to integrate PCB designs into larger systems, ensuring seamless functionality and performance. Your role will also involve documenting design processes and results, providing clear communication to stakeholders about the status and reliability of PCB designs. You will participate in design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of PCB design practices within the organization.
