Overview
SpaceX is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support failure analysis in the Starlink Satellite PCB Engineering team. You'll work with SMT manufacturing and failure analysis equipment to ensure product quality. This role requires familiarity with both destructive and non-destructive analysis techniques.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in failure analysis and SMT manufacturing. Your hands-on experience with failure analysis equipment, both destructive and non-destructive, allows you to effectively support the analysis of failures observed in production. You are flexible and a quick learner, thriving in a fast-paced environment where you can apply your mechanical and electrical skills to real-world challenges.
You possess a can-do attitude and are eager to interface with various teams, including PCBA production and Supplier Development. Your ability to work collaboratively with Reliability and EEE Piece Part groups is essential for success in this role. You are detail-oriented and committed to ensuring the quality of the manufacturing process throughout all phases of product life-cycles.
Desirable
Experience with EEE piece parts and a solid understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in PCB assembly will set you apart. Familiarity with quality assurance practices and the ability to analyze non-conforming products will enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support destructive and non-destructive analyses during the development and pre-production phases of hardware life-cycles. You will assist engineering teams in analyzing rework and recovery efforts on non-conforming hardware, ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards. Your work will directly impact the success of SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars by ensuring the reliability of satellite components.
You will be responsible for interfacing with various teams to gather data and insights that will inform quality improvements. Your analyses will help determine the quality of the manufacturing process and support investigations into any issues that arise. You will play a crucial role in supporting the build and test of pre-production, qualification, and flight hardware, contributing to the overall success of the Starlink project.
What we offer
At SpaceX, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration. We offer a collaborative work environment where your contributions will be valued and recognized. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that have a direct impact on the future of humanity in space. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds in our team.
Join us at SpaceX and be part of a mission that is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not exploring the stars. Your work will help shape the future of space travel and technology, making a lasting impact on generations to come.
