Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in evaluating electronic components for reliability. Your experience includes working closely with suppliers and conducting hands-on lab analysis to ensure high-quality standards are met. You are adept at communicating effectively with cross-functional teams, including supply chain and design engineers, to drive decisions and mitigate risks associated with component reliability.
You possess a solid understanding of commercial electronics and have experience in reviewing bills of materials to ensure the selection of reliable components. Your analytical skills allow you to identify and track part change notifications and new part requests efficiently. You thrive in collaborative environments and are comfortable engaging with external third parties, such as component manufacturers and test labs, to facilitate necessary evaluations and testing.
What you'll do
As an EEE Components Engineer at SpaceX, you will play a critical role in supporting the design engineer community by ensuring the reliability of electronic components used in various projects. You will be responsible for evaluating new and existing parts, conducting design reviews, and performing hands-on lab analysis to assess their reliability. Your work will directly impact all stages of design and production, requiring you to interface with supply chain, design engineers, and production teams.
You will identify, track, and communicate part change notifications and new part requests, ensuring that all components meet the required reliability standards. Supporting Starlink EEE part reliability issues will be a key aspect of your role, where you will drive risk mitigation efforts towards closure. You will engage with external third parties to acquire outsourcing work and schedule data reviews, ensuring that all processes are followed and documented appropriately.
